Position Summary Accounting Manger will communicate with high level leadership in both Secaucus and Memphis to determine the direction and goals of the Garden City Accounting Department. Communicates with International Division leadership via reports and makes suggestions for successful operation of the GC Accounting Team. Works in conjunction with the Accounting supervisors and staff accountants to assure that the day-to-day workflow is processed in a consistent and timely manner. Responsible for the monthly financial closing procedure. Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities Monitor teams' performance and ensure the requirements of the department are met. Recommends improvements, new requirements Responsible for department budgets. Prepare and analyze profit and loss statements for the International Division. Monthly financial reporting to International Division Senior management. Provide practical guidance for all accounting matters. Analyze root causes and propose solutions for improvement of delivery of accounting services/processes. Provide Accounting team with appropriate training. Review internal controls on financial reporting and corporate assets. Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting staff in the Branch offices. Window for internal and external auditors, tax inspectors on International Division matters. Work with NYK Services Group in applying standard procedures to International Division. Coordinate with YLK Group GHQ. Provide Leadership for the Accounting Department and Branch office Accounting staff. Hiring of new staff for the department. Responsible for management of the Accounting Supervisors. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field. Minimum of 10 years in accounting experiences including journal entries, accrual and reversal process, fixed assets system and capital lease accounting. Strong analytical skill, good computer skill such as excel required. Must have strong organizational and time management skills. The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities. Able to meet deadlines. Extensive knowledge of accounting principles and practices, general ledger, sub- ledgers, audit procedure, computer software application of accounting and fixed assets, organize work and set priorities to meet deadlines. Write memos and reports clearly and concisely. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinate staffs and assist for financial and accounting matters Ability to read, analyze and interpret verbal and written requests and directions. Must have the ability to compose letters, memos, emails and other written documentation clearly and concisely. Be able to present one's self in a highly cooperative and professional manner when meeting both internal and external customers and vendors face to face. Communicate goals and objectives for the Accounting Department Must have advanced knowledge of Windows operating system and be proficient in Microsoft software applications (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.) Must have working knowledge of the International division Freight Forwarding system.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
